Hey all. Yesterday I was in my very first car accident. We were stopped and some guy slammed into our cab while trying to change lanes. We were dragged about a hundred feet through the stoplight. I was thankful that me nor the driver were injured nor did I have the after affects. This when I was coming home for work. So anyone else on here been in a car accident?

I wa in a car accdcident when i was 8 years old. I was in the car with my mom, and she had to stopat a stop light. I think the light was either broke, or it was a long holding light, anyway, when it didn't change, someone blew their car horn for her to go on, and when she pulled out, this other driver pulled out and hit us in the back end. I think it jammed the rod in my right knee somehow, because I think right on impact, my right knee wouldn't straighten out all the way, but i didn't notice until that night, but other wise we weren't hurt.

Well Troy, like Connie said. I'm glad you weren't hurt. I've been in my share of minor accidents and a couple more serious ones. The most severe thing that happened is the airbags exploded. Since I was a teen ager, when someone snapped a balloon in my ear, I've always had a problem with my ears ringing. This made it lots worse. They ring constantly. Gets really hard to take at times, but in general, I learned to live with it. Every time I'm in a car and the driver brakes hard, I put my hands up to my ears. I know this is a mistake, because the force of the airbags can break an arm. I just don't want to hear any more noise in my ears than I have to.

I've never been in a serious one, just a few fender benders where no one was hurt.

I have been in a few accedents while I drove. One wasn't my fault, the worst one, and three my fault. Nobody was ever hurt, and two tht were my fault no damage was created.
And that is good that you were not hurt.

I was in a van accident when I was eight. It was while driving back to day camp and our van, with about 15 kids and counselors in it, got hit on either side by an old lady and some kid who was driving too fast. One minute I was sitting there half-asleep, the next I heard everyone screaming and I joined in. Then the firefighters showed up and smashed the door so we could all get out. (one of the counselors supposedly jumped out of the window) The injuries ranged from a few cuts and bruises (I got a cut on my foot) to one girl who broke her pelvis and ended up in the hospital for some time. Later, those of us who went through it would call it The Big Bang and tell stories about how we survived it, but it was pretty scary at the time. I still wear my seatbelt extra-tight to this day.

Yeah this was in a van. People just don't know how to drive these days or they think they own the road. I was asked about my seatbelt and the officer saw it was on me. Could you imagine a blind person being sited for not waring a seatbelt? I guess it could happen.

Troy,
You are very fortunate..

The thing about the seat belt in your case is I am thinking it kept you from taking an awful tumble, you were like held secure.

Just really pleased to know that all is well with you..

Take Care Man,

My grandad slammed in to a whole line of blimming cars when he was driving me to school after a hospital appointment. No-one was hurt, but he had to pick all the debris off the road and put it in the boot of the car.

I was in a car accident Feb 05. I was rear-ended by a drunk driver while stopped at a stop light. Bastard had the nerve to take off on me. Good thing I have a photographic memory. Got all his info including what he was wearing, height, weight, everything.. cops got his ass 2 blocks from where he hit me. They actually got to him before they got to me. He was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident, DUI, No insurance, and numerous other charges. Apparently he fled cause 1. he was drinking and 2. he had a warrent out for his arrest. Good thing he got caught. A bit of whiplash and back pain but nothing I couldn't handle. Take care all and STAY Safe!

We could've had a nasty accident when my Aunt was dropping me home before she went to Hospital for a check-up. She was 7 months pregnant with Robbie, now 3 weeks old, thank god. She was just pulling out of her road round a really tight hairpin bend in her four-wheel drive, and this flaming idiot drunk driver came whizzing down Fullers road right in front of her car as we turned in to Fullers road and she really had to slamb on the brake so he didn't hit her and possibly injure us both quite badly and kill the unborn baby. Some people!

I don;t know if this counts, but when I was like 12, my sister's car went on fire while we wree driving down a dirt road. She had to get bothme and her few month old baby daughter out of the car, and my door got stuck. I got out though, nad some really nice guy rescued us from the road and took us ot his house. The car was completely burned up in 2 minutes, and the cops told us that if we had have been in there a few minutes longer, we all would have been burned to death. It was pretty damn scarry.

At the age of thirteen my family and I, were at a stop sign and a woman hit us going fifty mph, and mind you, we wer at a dead stop!!!!!
It turns out, she was applying her makeup, and did not see the car in front of her.
I must confess, it was quite painfull!!!!!

The most recent accident was when I was about 12. My mom was stopped at a light. When it changed she went. As she turned left a kid on a bike was flying towards her and hit us actually. No one could have stopped it and he sort of went through the windshield. When we jumped out to see if he was ok he was up and walking away. He ahd a miner concussion and that was it. What a relief.
